Robbie Williams’ comeback video sees him shaving in a desert, then wandering the dustry terrain until he happens upon a young lady in a cool car with flowing locks who gives him a lift and lets him grope her by the fireside. If we were in the desert, we’d probably be starving and thirst-ridden with only an emergency bottle of Panda Cola for refreshment, but such is the life of an international pop star… At the end of the video, Robbie dons a suit and bovver boots and then ill-advisedly dances on the wing of a plane, showing all those annoying tics and smirks that we’d blocked out of our minds since the demise of Rudebox. The video’s baffling, the song’s mediocre but does any of that matter for Robbie? Let’s face it, we’re all waiting for him to be released from this contract and join up with Take That again aren’t we?
